Are you emotionally strong and focused?

Today is August 21 and the Navigate the Chaos question to consider is “How often do you remind yourself to be emotionally strong and focused?"

People who navigate the chaos know that amidst the issues, questions, and obstacles in their path, they need to remind emotionally strong and focused.

Indian film actress Deepika Padukone transitioned from badminton player to model to actress and faced many obstacles along her path.

In an interview about her career Padukone said “Never lose focus of what you want for yourself. People will try and pull you down. There might be things in your life, which will deter your confidence. There might be days when you want to break down; there could be days when you feel like giving up. It’s extremely important to be emotionally strong and be focused. Do it your own way. And don’t be afraid of making mistakes.”

In The Bridge Across Forever: A True Love Story, author Richard Bach wrote “There are no mistakes. The events we bring upon ourselves, no matter how unpleasant, are necessary in order to learn what we need to learn; whatever steps we take, they're necessary to reach the places we've chosen to go.”

Such an approach to mistakes can serve as a reminder to stay emotionally strong and focused during difficult periods in our lives. This is especially true when you have to prove yourself. No matter who you are or what you do, there comes a point in your life, usually more than once, where you have to prove yourself.

Those who navigate the chaos understand that no matter their achievements, they need to work hard at proving themselves to others.

In an interview actor Aaron Echert said “You always have to go out there and prove yourself to people. It never ends. Thats an important lesson No matter what level you are at. Never give up.” Echert noted that “for 20 years I’ve made mistakes, and recovered from mistakes. I’ve asked myself tough questions. I’ve just tried to be a better person, and not take everything so seriously.”
