Why do you criticize?

Today is September 28 and the Navigate the Chaos question to consider is “Before you criticize someone, how often do you ask yourself what fault of yours most nearly resembles the one that you are about to criticize?”

People who navigate the chaos are so busy translating their dreams into reality there is little time to stop and criticize someone.

Managing their dream becomes the sole focus of living, not serving as the moral police of the world. Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius wrote “Whenever you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question: what fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?”

While navigating the chaos it is easy to criticize others or to blame them for something that went wrong.

Doing so seldom allows one to move forward. Before criticizing someone ask yourself the question ‘what fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?’

Then remind yourself of what Andrew Vidich wrote in Light Upon Light: Five Master Paths to Awakening the Mindful Self "No one has appointed us as the moral police of humankind."

Before you criticize someone, how often do you ask yourself what fault of yours most nearly resembles the one that you are about to criticize?”
